After completing a university degree in Business Management and Commerce, Carissa returned to Albany and commenced employment at a local real estate agency, later to become Professionals Arthur Johnston Snowball. Carissa went on to become a Director of Professionals Arthur Johnston Snowball for 10 plus years until the sale of the agency to Wellington & Reeves in 2022.

In addition to her University degree, Carissa received her Real Estate & Business Agents registration and through later studies also holds a Real Estate Agent Triennial Certificate.
